The Spirit Garden Animated Short
My senior capstone film, The Spirit Garden, has been officially selected to screen at the upcoming 2025-2027 Festival Angaelica. The Spirit Garden is a 2D animated student film created by Jacqueline Alvarez. This film is about a young girl who collapses before she has the chance to drink her tea. She soon wakes up, but strange things begin to happen. Will she be able to solve the mystery behind the strangeness?

My name is Jacqueline Alvarez
I'm a freelance animator, character designer, children's book illustrator and storyboard artist based in Chicago. I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts in Animation and a minor in Illustration at DePaul University. My painting The Fishes Tempo was selected as the cover art for the 2024 volume 17 of Creating Knowledge at DePaul University. I enjoy working on animations, books, illustrations and games that adults and children alike can enjoy. I've recently been working on some new animated short films and children's books, so keep an eye out for those!
